At first glance, the cost of living at Christwood can appear expensive. But the costs of staying in your home — property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, utilities, housekeeping, home maintenance and lawn care, repairs — can add up over time. At Christwood, all these costs are included in your monthly fee, and you’ll never have to pay to replace a roof, repair an air conditioner, or modify your home to make it more accessible.

While we don’t have a crystal ball, your biggest expense in the years ahead will likely be health care. With our LifeCare plan, you’ll have access to the care you need at a predictable monthly rate. When you add the peace of mind LifeCare provides, we think the value of living at Christwood is hard to beat.

The entrance fee is a one-time fee paid when you move into Christwood as an independent living resident. It’s based on the size of the residence you choose and the number of people living in the residence. The entrance fee ensures priority access to assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, and skilled nursing with the cost for care based on the monthly fee of your prior independent living residence.

Depending on the plan you choose, a portion of the entrance fee may be refundable. Our Traditional Plan features a lower entrance fee with a refund that declines at 2% per month through the first 45 months (less a 10% sales and processing fee). Our Return of Capital Plan has a higher entrance fee but refunds 80% of the entrance fee to you or your estate when you leave the community and the residence is resold. With both plans, a portion of the entrance fee may be tax deductible as prepaid health care expense.*
