Christwood is located in Covington, Louisiana, less than an hour’s drive across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans. In the early 20th century, Covington was a resort town where wealthy New Orleans residents escaped the summer heat for the cooler air, clean water, and health-giving properties of the so-called “Ozone Belt”. Today, Covington still offers a refuge from city life, but it’s far from a sleepy backwater. In fact, Southern Living magazine named Covington the Best Small Town in Louisiana and one of the friendliest places in the South.

Part of Covington’s allure comes from the many events and festivals held throughout the year including free concerts, downtown art walks and the Three Rivers Arts Festival which attracts artists and more than 50,000 visitors from all over the country each fall.
