As a not-for-profit organization, Christwood is committed to responsible stewardship of every gift entrusted to us. All gifts are used to further our charitable mission to help seniors live with dignity, independence, and the assurance of needed physical, spiritual and medical care. When you give to Christwood, your gift can:
- Help ensure that no resident will have to leave his or her home at Christwood due to financial reasons beyond their control
- Support educational programs for residents and seniors in the local community
- Fund employee scholarships or assist employees facing a crisis
- Assist with campus improvements
You may choose one of our designated funds or make an unrestricted gift to our Founder’s Fund for use where it’s most needed. You may also choose to remember Christwood in your estate planning with a Legacy Gift. But no matter how you choose to give, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a difference for older adults and those who serve them.

FOUNDER’S FUND
Provide support where it’s most needed.
The Founder’s Fund is an unrestricted fund for discretionary use by Christwood’s Executive Director and/or Board of Trustees for any philanthropic use to support Christwood. This fund gives Christwood leadership the ability to address the community’s most pressing needs. Examples may include…
DESIGNATED FUNDS
Choose to support a specific initiative.
When you give to one of Christwood’s designated funds, you can direct your gift to enhance resident services, create new and innovative programs, support employees with scholarships or assistance in times of crisis, build an endowment, or ensure no resident will ever be asked to leave his or her home at Christwood due to financial hardship beyond their control.
LEGACY GIVING
Leave a legacy for generations.
A legacy gift is an ongoing reflection of your values that can directly impact lives for generations to come. In a world where less than one percent of philanthropic dollars benefits organizations serving older adults, your gift can make a real difference while building your legacy and providing significant tax benefits.

Please make your check payable to Christwood Foundation and note on the memo line how you would like your gift used (e.g., “Unrestricted” or “Expansion Fund”). While we do not encourage sending cash through the mail, gifts of cash should be accompanied by the same information in writing.

Tribute Gifts (In Honor or Memory)
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to recognize family members, friends, or even pets who have touched your life. If a notification address is provided, Christwood will send a notification of your gift to the honoree or other person you designate.
Corporate Matching Gifts
You may have the opportunity to double your gift dollars if you or your spouse is an employee (current or retired) of a matching-gift company. Simply request a matching gift form from your employer, then complete and mail it along with your gift to the address below. Christwood will send you an acknowledgement letter confirming both your gift and the matching contribution.

Stocks and Other Securities
Gifts of appreciated stocks and other securities can be advantageous to the donor, possibly providing a charitable deduction for the full fair market value at the time the gift is made, while avoiding capital gains tax. The value of the gift is based on 100% of the security’s value on the date of transfer to Christwood. If you are interested in gifting stocks or other securities to Christwood, please provide your broker with the following information:
Retirement Plan Distributions
You can reduce your tax liability by transferring your gift directly from your retirement plan to Christwood. If you’re over age 70.5, this tax-free transfer can be applied to your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
