FINE ART IN COVINGTON, LA | THE ATRIUM GALLERY AT CHRISTWOOD
Connecting with each other through art.
Art has the power to connect us with the world at large through shared emotions and experiences. At Christwood, we connect with the Covington community through art at the Atrium Gallery.
With a fireside lobby and café, the Atrium Gallery provides a welcoming space to view contemporary art from regional artists. We’ve hosted exhibitions by painters, sculptors, photographers, and mixed media artists. Exhibits are rotated bimonthly and open with a festive reception with live music and refreshments. Always free and open to the public, we invite you to stop by and see the latest exhibition.

I enjoy the feeling of a little neighborhood. You can have all the privacy you desire or open the door and be among friends or activities. Having the café here is also a plus. My only regret is not coming sooner.”

The Atrium Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Nancy Hirsch Lassen
February 12 through March 18
Nancy Hirsch Lassen is a mixed-media abstract artist living and working in New Orleans. She has been represented in a number of fine art galleries in New Orleans, including Degas Gallery, Sullivan Gallery, and currently Ariodante Gallery on Julia Street. She also participated in the show ‘ei8ht takes’ at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art and the National Juried Show of the New Orleans Art Association. Her mixed-media works, many large-scale, are executed with bold brush strokes and a tendency toward warm colors. She has estimated she has completed over 800 paintings in her career.
“For the past two decades, I have felt compelled to paint nature and structures, the collision and/or the harmonious coexistence of the two. I love the soft curvilinear lines and ever-changing colors and shapes of nature. I am equally fascinated with the static linear industrial structures as they interrupt, collide, and transform the nature that surrounds them. The corruption of nature caused by industry makes me appreciate the composition created by the two.”
